August Morning in Gage Park

I’m at Gage Park early this summer morning, before the heat of the day. The sky is clear,¬†accented with innocent clouds. A light breeze wafts the Canadian flag, a beautiful pop of red on the crystal blue. I have lots of time today so I can explore the entire park, following the wide pathway to the children’s splash pad. Playing with different shutter speeds makes artwork of the water drops. The roses in the formal garden are in regal bloom, so delicate with sunbeams glowing through them. Their perfume lifting on the light breeze luring bees to their bright petals. Suddenly the roar of antique engines breaks the summer quiet and the Lancaster fighter plane emerges from behind the trees, a rare treasure from days gone by.
